How to Nail the Set Trend

The set trend is going full force this spring and summer, and it’s all about matchy-matchy!  I’m really loving it, but I’ve been having trouble finding a set that works for me. Until I found these two matching Sezane pieces that are perfect for late spring and summer. The print is gorgeous, and each piece fits really well. Even better, each piece can work easily on it’s own. So both these pieces will work in future spring and summer seasons if the trend doesn’t stick around.

There are so many different options when it comes to sets: midi skirts, wide-leg pants, blazers, and crop tops. I’d say the most important piece is finding two pieces that completely match to get the full “set” effect. Another thing I liked about pairing these matching pieces was that it was a bit of an understated way to wear the trend. These pieces actually weren’t marketed together, but I paired them together anyway as a set.

I wore this set with these beautiful mule sandals by Trask. Trask is a heritage brand of footwear offering high-quality classic styles. You can find several Trask selections at Gild Shoes in Portland. While these shoes look super classy, I thought the black gave the overall look a bit of edginess for a night out. This set could also be paired with a brown leather sandal for a more casual daytime look.

I added my coral mini-satchel for a little pop of color, as well as a delicate necklace to draw more attention to the pretty neckline on this top.

This is great look for grabbing a glass of wine on a summer evening on a patio somewhere or exploring your favorite city garden on a date.
