I was recently part of a pop up fundraising event with a fashion show by local Portland designers Myriam Marcela and Ayumi Angel. The event featured not only fashion but a dinner by local chef, Keith Morris, at the beautiful Coopers Hall space in SE Portland. The evening was to benefit the Portland-Guadalajara Sister City Association– a local organization that helps low-income families that have children with autism. Both designers are from Guadalajara, and the menu was inspired by food from the region. It was such a special event to be a part of and so much fun getting to walk in a show.
A little about the designers:
Myriam Marcela creates exquisite clothing. Many items are vintage finds that have been revived for modern wear, but she also creates new pieces. She is formally trained in fashion design and her detailed pieces are works of art. Shop looks from the show as well as new fall pieces here.
Ayumi Angel is a local jewelry designer who creates each unique piece by hand. Her style is both elegant and minimal, perfect for accenting any outfit whether casual for formal. Her pieces can be found in several local Portland boutiques and also for purchase online here. You can also check out a previous post I did featuring her jewelry here.
It was much fun and so special to be part of this event and walk down a runway in these gorgeous designer pieces. We all had a blast, and the whole event was a huge success. I enjoyed meeting many great people in the community that were there to support the PGSCA. Thank you to Myriam Marcela and Ayumi Angel for including me in this show.
Media for the event was covered by local creative agency Bright Box Social and all beautiful photography featured in this post was provided courtesy of Bright Box Social. Thank you!
